Ableton Live 11 is the ideal music production software that can be used to demonstrate exciting new concepts to music and production. Students with a passion for music will learn how to link and edit multiple tracks simultaneously, record separate takes from the same audio, use an MPE-capable controller for more expressive sounds, all while creating dynamic textures simultaneously.

Spectral resonators have been developed to create dynamic or subtle effects that can be added to your project to create a different feel. Packed with various digital effects, Ableton 11 allows you to do more with your music than ever previously possible.

Several new instruments and cool effects have been thought up by Dillon Bastan exclusively for Live 11. Taking inspiration from natural and physical processes, such as the natural growth pattern of plants, the resonators can be used to generate completely new noise and audio.

Feedback from previous versions has allowed us to improve on the much requested Arrangement view in Ableton Live. You may now compose tracks more efficiency than ever before; access new audio processing features directly from the Arrangement view - move samples, create fades and even reverse audio using the new clip interaction controls.

Useful keyboard shortcuts mean you can quickly zoom in/out, nudge clips, make audio edits and access the automation view directly allowing for a more continuous workflow.

Ableton Live 11 has been updated to include the Capture function that prevents any mixes or production from being lost from forgetfulness, now you can be sure your sounds are safe and recorded. The capture button will recognise when you play an audio track and match the timing. In addition, you can now edit multiple MIDI clips simultaneously, create sophisticated harmonic content and add subtle nuances to your music.

Create the perfect recording

Ableton Live organises multiple audio and MIDI passes into individual takes that allow you to splice and combine separate files to create new completely new recordings, or variations of your favourite project.

Utilise your MPE-capable controller

An MPE-capable controller can be used to add different blends, slides and pressure to certain points within your project. This gives you full control over the parameters of individual notes.

Hybrid Reverb

Hybrid reverbs use convolution and algorithmic in conjunction to place your sound in any real-life environment or unbelievable spaces. Modulate the reverb tail for added effect, run it in conjunction with the convolution side, or choose to play it as an instrument for real-time sound design.

Spectral Resonator

Use the Spectral resonator to break down an incoming audio signal into individual partials that can then be stretched, blurred or morphed using a single note or frequency to create unique effects.

PitchLoop89

Based on early versions of digital effect units, PitchLoop89 from Robert Henke is an innovative device that can change the pitch of any sound. Use it to produce cool glitch effects, vibratos as well as delayed shimmers.

Tempo Following

Keep everyone in sync with Live’s new tempo following technology. Automatically adjusting itself in real-time instead of using a tempo source that everyone has to follow. Also allows use as a tempo-synced FX box.

Macro Snapshots

Save your favourite Macros for later use in the new Macro management feature. Create instant variations of your sound without all the hassle.

Note Chance

Note chance can adjust the probability that a note or drum hit will occur and allows Ableton Live to generate surprising variations that change over time.

Ableton Live 11.1 has Arrived

From the 1st February 2022, existing Ableton Users will be able to update their Live 11 software to version 11.1. The update brings with it useful new and improved features.

The new features include native support for Apple computers running on the M1 Silicon chip, two new Max for Live utilities and the addition of Align Delay and MIDI Shaper. Align Delay provides compensation for lag when signals are sent throughout the system, and MIDI Shaper brings more expression to performances by generating modulation data.

Several improvements have been made, including comping, updates to Clip handling, a revamped Frequency Shifter device and more. The Shifter device allows for a new mode to be added in the form of a real-time monophonic pitch shifter along with an LFO, delay, an envelope section and glide functionality.

Users of Ableton Live 11 will have access to the new update from the 1st February 2022.
